Choosing the right type

Work through these questions in order:

  1. Is it a search or filter page where users browse content? Listing Page
  2. Is it a news article or editorial post? News
  3. Is it an event with dates and venue? Event
  4. Is it a call for tenders or funding with a deadline? Funding Opportunity
  5. Is it a downloadable file or media asset? Resource
  6. Is it a curated image? Image of the Day
  7. Is it a scroll-driven narrative that progressively reveals content? Scrollytelling
  8. Is it a case study with a problem-solution narrative? Use Cases
  9. Is it dedicated SCL | Compagnies content? SCL | Compagnies
  10. Is it dedicated User Uptake content? User Uptake
  11. None of the above? Structured Template

When in doubt, use Structured Template — it gives you the widest range of layout options.

Fields common to all content types

Every content type requires:

  • Title — the page’s internal name and the basis for URL generation. It is also the visible page H1 unless a Header Content Row is present, in which case the Header Content Row title is rendered as the H1
  • Access control — the organisation term that determines which editorial team can edit the page

Searchable and listable editorial content types also require a teaser title and teaser text for cards and search results. Most also require a teaser image (16:9 ratio) and a Component category (taxonomy). Listing Page is the exception: it is excluded from internal search and referenced-content selections by design.

Refer to each content type’s dedicated page for the full field reference and editing instructions.

Metatags

Every content type has a Metatags tab. The page title, description, and social sharing image are computed automatically from the fields above — but only if you fill them in properly. A missing teaser text means an empty description in search results. A missing teaser image means no visual when the page is shared on social media. Treat the teaser fields as part of your SEO, not just the listing card.

See Metadata options for when and how to override the defaults.

note - on workflow

All content types follow the standard moderation workflow: Draft, Needs Review, Published, Unpublished. The one exception is Listing Page, which publishes immediately on save.
